Dr. Lukacovic’s recent research has been primarily centered on trends in communication through digital media platforms; specifically, on how user-generated online content reflects the matters of security, pandemics, extremism, irredentism, and political violence. Her inquiries are guided by theories such as securitization, framing, and conflict sensitivity. Dr. Lukacovic frequently presents at international conferences, such as National Communication Association, International Communication Association, and International Crisis & Risk Communication Conference. Her work has appeared in several international journals, such as “PACO”, “International Communication Research Journal”, “Journal of Applied Communication Research”, and “Journal of International Crisis and Risk Communication Research”, among others. She recently co-edited a two-volume book project with the prestigious scholarly publishing house Rowman & Littlefield. These books explore the current research and practice of public relations, media, and communication in post-socialist contexts of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Dr. Lukacovic is the current president of Communication Association of Eurasian Researchers (CAER) – this is an international scholarly organization that connects global communication scholars and practitioners for research, collaboration, networking, and promotion activities, to foster connections with international research centers, to showcase academic and business activities in the post-socialist region, and to build bridges and close gaps between East and West.
